Hi,

Heart - What About Love

The Brassy synth.

For this type of sounds the best way to start is Factory Program 81 Classic Comp or 1004 Anabrass and then start tweaking.

If somebody has the intro or a better brassy synth, please upload it.

Have fun,

Hi,

Right now Debbie Shair, keyboardist of Heart, is using a Kurzweil PC3K to play this song but, what was the original keyboard used in the recording of the album Heart - Heart?

Well, I have a couple of books by Heart, one being Heart "In the studio" which tells a lot about all their records, but none of them detail what keyboards they used in those 80's records. Still, totally recommended reading http://www.amazon.com/Heart-In-Studio-J ... 1550228315

So yesterday I asked Ron Nevison, producer of that album, in Facebook what they used. Sometimes we give for granted the Internet but, it's kind of amazing that I can ask such a nerdy question to the producer of that and many other multi-platinum albums and the guy actually answers without knowing me at all!

Well, he thinks it could have been the Rhodes Chroma. Not 100% sure though, it happened 28 years ago.

A little history about that keyboard:

I saw Heart when they were touring that album. They had 2 Yamaha KX controllers on stage. If I remember correctly the keyboard rack had a TX816 and some Roland modules, maybe the SuperJupiter rack. Rack synthes were just getting popular then.

Around the same time I was playing with a band that was opening for Ozzy. Speaking of Ron Nevison. Ozzy's keyboard player John SInclair was using Super Jupiters 2X and I think a JX 10.
